Winter Reading Challenge- January 15-March 15
2021’s Winter Reading Challenge, “Wonderful WINTER Stories”, is a great opportunity to curl up with a book during this cold, snowy season. Between January 15 and March 15, you are challenged to read four books to win a book and snack prize packet … plus a chance to win a KPL mug and Zandbroz gift card. Download the reading log for Wonderful WINTER Stories, complete the requirements, and return it to the Library no later than March 15. And most of all – have fun!
Missoula Children’s Theater – March 22-26, 2021
Missoula is co-sponsored by the Kindred PTO, the Kindred Public Library, and the Kindred Area Arts Partnership (KAAP).
Registration for “Johnny Appleseed” starts on February 7 and is available on a first come/first serve basis. Students in the Kindred School District, ages Kindergarten-8th grade, are encouraged to register.
Download the form for 21MCT Johnny Appleseed Registration(1). Signup Genius is also available through PTO and KAAP websites or Library/PTO/KAAP Facebook sites. There is a 60 student max, so be sure to utilize the waiting list option once the regular list is fill.
Saturday Storytime – third Saturday of the month
Breakfast with a Book – second Saturday of the month
The Library’s book discussion group typically meets in the Library at 9am on the second Saturday of each month (September-May). A copy of all discussion books is available at the Library. The remaining 2020-21 reading list includes: February 13 – The Fifth Avenue Story Society by Rachel Hauck; March 13 – This Tender Land by William Kent Kruger; April 10 – The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate; May 8 – TBA. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, participants are asked to provide their own beverage and snack. Email or stop in if you have questions.

The Kindred Public Library maintains two Little Free Library locations in Kindred – one located near Gilbertson Park and the other near the City Park. These little libraries are restocked regularly; feel free to “take a book, leave a book”!

The “normal” Festival of Tables/Purse Raffle was changed due to COVID-related concerns. The 2020 physical-distancing option … Festival of Picnic Tables! 2020 Festival Photos were featured on the Library’s Facebook page. Raffle tickets were available in the Library, with purses displayed in the lobby.
This annual fund-raising event will return in August 2021. More information available at that time!
