Kindred StoryWalk – September-October, 2021
“Our Great Big Backyard” by Laura Bush and Jenna Bush Hager is the current book selection on the Kindred StoryWalk during September-October. To extend the fun, stop by the Library to ask for a children’s activity bag. Supplies are limited to the first 48 children who have competed the StoryWalk and who visit the Library.
Breakfast with a Book – second Saturday of the month (September 2021-May 2022)
KPL’s book discussion group meets in the Library on the second Saturday of each month, September-May, starting at 9am. A copy of all discussion books is available at the Library; coffee/tea is available or participants can provide their own.

Story Time – third Saturday of the month (September 2021-May 2022) – Awesome Occupations
Story Time is designed for ages preschool through 3rd grade. Children meet in the Library at 11:00 a.m. on the third Saturday during September-May. Themes relating to Awesome Occupations are scheduled for: Librarians on September 18 • Firefighters on October 16 • Authors on November 20 • Artists on December 18 • Police Officers on January 15 • School Bus Drivers on February 19 • Farmers o March 19 • Veterinarians on April 16 • Principal or Teachers on May 21. Special guests as part of the featured occupation will be the monthly reader!

Tour of Homes/Basket Raffle – November 21, 2021
Enjoy a fun afternoon with friends as you tour several featured homes in Kindred and surrounding community. Start your afternoon by stopping at the Library for holiday treats and coffee/hot cider. Check out the donated baskets on the Basket Raffle, and to purchase a ticket (or more) to enter the basket drawing. Tour tickets and map are available at the Library on the 21st or can also be purchased in advance. Call the Library for more information.
Summer Reading Program – 2022

Summer Arts Safari is a musical performance camp that provides a fun and unique musical theater experience for kids ages 6-14! Information about the 2022 camp will be published when available.
Kids of all ages enjoy the annual Kindred Days celebration! The Library hosts an open house, the Book Sale Room is open, and other activities offered. More information available in the Spring of 2022
The Festival of Tables fundraiser and purse raffle is a fun way to gather with friends while enjoying a glass of wine, appetizers, and yummy dessert. View the creatively-decorated tables, purchase raffle tickets to win a purse, and be entertained by Purscilla! 2022 information will be posted when it becomes available. Until then, contact the Library for more information on how you can participate!
The Kindred Public Library maintains two Little Free Library locations in Kindred – one near Gilbertson Park and the other near the City Park. These little libraries are restocked regularly and include books for all reading levels. Feel free to “take a book, leave a book”!
