Summer Story Time is designed for ages preschool through 3rd grade. Interested children will meet in the Library at 10:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month, June-July-August. Registration is not required!

Summer Breakfast with a Book – second Wednesday of the month (June-July-August)
During June-July-August 2021, a summer version of Breakfast with a Book will be available on the second Wednesday of the summer months at 9am. The first discussion book is The Giver by Lois Lowry. Keurig coffee/tea is available at the Library, or participants can provide their own. Email or stop in if you have questions.

The Library’s book discussion group is meeting throughout the summer at 9am on Wednesdays. Join other readers on July 14 to discuss The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson, and on August 11 to discuss The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff. A copy of all discussion books is available at the Library. Email or stop in if you have questions.
Take a virtual road trip around the USA by reading books and participating in fun activities! “Reading Road Trip USA” is open to readers of all ages. Travel the USA from your own home without the stress of packing! Visit the Library to get a reading log and information about ways to participate.
The Kindred Public Library maintains two Little Free Library locations in Kindred – one located near Gilbertson Park and the other near the City Park. These little libraries are restocked regularly and include books for all reading levels. Feel free to “take a book, leave a book”!
“Frozen” for grade 3-8 and “How to be a Pirate” for grades K-2 is scheduled for July 19-23 at the Davenport Community Center in Davenport. Both age groups will practice at the same time in the same place from 9am-2pm. Both shows will be presented at 7pm on Friday, the 23rd.
Summer Arts Safari is a musical performance camp that provides a fun and unique musical theater experience for kids ages 6-14! The college-age troop leaders from East Grand Forks, MN, hold a short audition on the first day of camp to place students in appropriate roles. Kids of all ages will enjoy Kindred Days 2021 at the Library with a Llama-Rific Partyrama Event held outside! Starting at 11:30, Rusty K Petting Zoo animals will be available on the lawn (complements of the Community Club); KAAP is sponsoring Face Painting in the parking lot, as well as a Caricature Artist also in the parking lot; and StoryTime celebrity readers will be available with book readings. The Library and Book Sale Room will be open from 11am-2pm.
We are excited to again host our Festival of Tables fundraiser and purse raffle! This promises to be a fun way to gather with friends while enjoying a glass of wine, appetizers, and yummy dessert. View the creatively-decorated tables, purchase a $.50 for a chance to win a purse/with secret contents, and to be entertained by Purscilla!
There are still a few tables available for those who may be interested in supporting the Library as a table hostesses. And there is always room for another purse or two for the raffle if you are interested in donating a purse/secret contents. Contact the Library for more information!
